Look! It's a sorority. No, a wrestling federation. No, it's Chi Alpha World Fellowship! So, to answer your question and to calm your fears, we are not a sorority or fraternity and our meetings do not result in being pinned while someone counts to three. Now that that is cleared up, what exactly do we do?
Our Mission:
As a part of the National Chi Alpha Organization under the Assemblies of God, we are committed to drawing American and International students together into a spiritually nurturing environment which validates, motivates, and encourages student diversity. Also, as students, we recognize the need for spiritual growth among national and international students. XAWF also brings a Pentecostal perspective to the spiritual development of the lives of the students.
Announcements:
Everything thing is winding down! Muster was yesterday (which was particularly special as we were honoring one of our own), dead days are next week, and then finals start. It is truly hard to believe!
Chi Alpha is in our normal room tonight, Rudder 502, at 7:00. Yay!! We have a room reserved for prayer again this week!! Friday night Prayer will be in Rudder 407 at 7:00!
Also, there are a few things coming up. This Saturday, April 26th, we will have our semesterly Kolache Run. It will be at Kolache Rolfs On Texas at 9:30am. Every year has been so much fun, and (lets face it) they are Kolaches! So everyone come out and enjoy some fellowship before final craziness.
Our last meeting, is April 29th; however, it will not be a normal meeting. Keila, our outing going president, will be sharing; she would like everyone to bring an item that means something to them our represents something about them to share something that no everyone knows. Stayed tuned because it will most likely involve food and a different location!!!!
Due to Muster, last week was our last Ladies Bible Study. However, depending upon everyones availability, we might have a final food blow-out before the end of the semester is anyone interested in an Iron Chef?
I will be remembering all of you as the semester winds up. I know that you all are scrambling to finish projects, study for last minute tests, and dreading the finals week. But there are a couple important things to remember the tests will soon be over, God will stand with you through it all, and ultimately this is not our goal Gods calling, His will, and being a witness for Him is our goal. [ Pressing on Toward the Goal ] Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Philippians 3:12.
